Join Bishop Hobson and the congregation for the launch of the Contentment of Christ Leadership Conference. This is more than a conference. It is an activation of the $4 million infrastructure and approved operating budget by vision keepers members.

Purpose

  • To raise money for church community outreach programs for the homeless and needy. Funds raised will be used to fund the Emergency Assistance Program, Homelessness Financial Relief Program, Down Payment Assistance Program, and other programs for the needy and homeless in local communities.

Volunteer-to-Work Program Application

This is for you if:
  • You are unemployed and/or underemployed looking for work close to home. 
  • Looking to gain new skills and get back in the workforce and labor market in a good paying job and career
  • Unemployed high school graduate, college student and college graduate looking for career closer to home
  • Looking for better career and tired of living paycheck to paycheck
  • Need resources to help pay for college because the program linked to Volunteer Scholarship Program
Purpose
  • Help provide training to homeless men and women, unemployed, underemployed, men, women, black/African-Americans and Hispanics/Latino and Asians.

  • Workers for local temp agencies do not have to worry about getting laid off in 60-90 days

  • The program will work with manufacturing, tech companies, restaurants, construction, healthcare, nonprofit, childcare, education, accounting/finance, business/professional services, skilled trades, engineers, government, leisure and hospitality, consultants, social work, warehousing, banking and retail in Memphis and Houston. 

  • End crime, long and short term homelessness and poverty in communities

  • Help decrease enrollment on social security benefits

  • Grow and increase workers in small businesses

Dress Code: Dress up or business casual 

The Vibe: Motivated and committed people that want to work and get out of poverty that is tired of living paycheck to paycheck, struggling living on government subsidies and fixed/limited income, want second chance after getting out of incarceration and want a fresh start in life to stay out of trouble, tired of residing in shared room housing and like your own permanent housing.

  • Meet with homeless shelter staff and advocates 

  • Discussions about how to reduce poverty and homelessness long term so people do not have to end up back in homeless shelters in the short and long term. 

  • Discuss and talk about new initiatives to end poverty and homelessness in communities by helping homeless men and women with mental health and depression
